Some tips for a fast car...
- Marke sure that you have an official BSA kit. Kits bought at places like Hobby Lobby may have differenct wheels and axles. You may use a pre-cut body kit and any decorations bought at such hobby stores.
- Graphite seems to work best as a dry lubricant on the axles and wheels.
- The heavier you car is, the faster it will go. Remember that 5 ounces is the max. Fishing weights work well for adding the weight. Plumber's Puddy also works well for adding small last minute amounts of weight.
- Longer cars tend to run more stable. The max length is 7". We use a 7" box to measure this. Some of the kits start out longer than 7".
- Be sure to smooth your axles, taking off the barbs under the head of the nails.
- Our track uses a dowel as a starting gate. Make sure your car's front-most point can rest on this dowel or your car will have to run backwards.
- Have fun and cheer on the other racers!
